Hi Guys!
Welcome to my website, my name is Sam Leyden, I am an artist based here in Liverpool, UK. I am often described by people as what would happen if singer/songwriter music and country music had a baby, which hits the nail on the head to be honest. Anyways, I'm so glad you decided to check my music out, keep an eye out on all of my socials for new updates on where I am playing, and any exciting releases coming very soon!
My Story In My Own Words
I have aways been into music, ever since I was a little kid, I still remember some embarrassing stories from my younger years. I vaguely remember writing my first song, it was called fade away and I can still recall the hook. It was a break up song, (like anyone at 10 years old even knows what a break up is). Also, I used to sing in the streets, not busking, I mean genuinely in the streets, singing my heart out whilst holding my mums hand, walking past crowds of people, who knows what they must have thought...I don't really want to think about that too much! A final thing I remember is when I heard a song on the radio and even remotely enjoyed it, I would go home, load up a lyric website, and print the lyrics of the song off to learn. I must've had a stack of about 200 songs next to my bed! I'm pretty sure I made an enemy in our printer (and my parents because of the amount of ink I wasted).

But yeah, that's pretty much how my music journey started. In secondary school, from ages 10-16, I was too scared to show my music to my own family after I started writing my own songs, let alone my whole school, so I didn't pick it for my GCSEs and college (16-18). Instead, I studied Photography, Graphic Design and Media Studies for A-Level. However, as soon as I joined college, I knew my heart lied with music, so I started going to open mic nights and writing more and more songs - constantly. I most likely annoyed my neighbours more than anyone has ever annoyed their neighbours before, because all my time 'out of college' during my college years was filled with music. This is where I became obsessed with perfecting my skills and knowledge. This wasn't just with music either, I grew a love for personal development, fitness and self discovery - a love I still hold to this day.

Consequently, I decided to go away to university to study Music Performance and Songwriting in Manchester. I did that for a year and a couple months, somewhat successfully, but ultimately made the decision to leave and move back home so I could focus more on myself and my own unique dreams, as opposed to other peoples.
